Ahmed Issa, the Minister of Tourism, has made a ruling to establish working hours for tourist facilities. The ruling stipulates specific timings for restaurants, cafes, bazaars, takeaway restaurants, airport and station restaurants and cafes, discos, and variety theaters. The timings range from 6 am to 4 am for most establishments, while takeaway restaurants and airport/station cafes will operate 24 hours.
Coastal and tourist governorates have the option to modify these timings, subject to coordination between the Ministers of Tourism and Local Development. However, tourist places within hotel establishments will have their timings decided by the Minister of Tourism. This ruling is in accordance with two laws: the Hotel and Tourist Establishments Law No. 8 of 2022 and the Public Places Law No. 154 of 2019.
